Slack app not downloading files

I don't know about services that try to open in new windows though. Sorry, something went wrong. MacOS Sierra: I had this issue as well. Had to re-choose my download folder after every new startup of slack.

Works fine in Firefox. Is it gone? Would love to have a workaround for this. In my case, I abandoned the mac app store version because it kept breaking , and just using the stand-alone installer. It's been working fine for me since the switch. I am not able to download on Mac even after re choosing the downloads directory from Advanced options.
